• Brachers is delighted to have been shortlisted for Law Firm of the Year for its Collections and Recoveries work in this year’s prestigious Credit Awards.

The Credit Awards are the leading awards scheme for anyone and everyone connected to the credit industry, whether a financial services provider, an intermediary, or a provider of support services.

The Law Firm of the Year category is aimed at law firms with a strong or predominant focus on collections or litigation activity. Brachers has developed a leading team with innovative processes that utilise legal skills and the latest information technology, focusing on building early engagement and customer rapport, with litigation a last resort.

The firm’s ‘Treating Customers Fairly’ culture has supported a more collaborative, rather than traditional heavy-handed, way of working with customers, resulting in improved debt collection rates including an uplift in pre-legal collections. The Collection and Recoveries team works with a wide range of clients locally and nationally, in both financial services and other sectors, with many clients having worked with Brachers for a decade or more.

Commenting on the shortlisting, Rob Thompson, Partner in Collections and Recoveries, said: “We are delighted to be a finalist in the Credit Awards 2019. The awards are recognised across the industry and really set the standard for achievement. We believe we have developed a distinctive, innovative and highly effective approach to collections that achieves better returns for clients and treats customers fairly. We look forward to the awards night!”

Michael Oatham, Head of Commercial Litigation, commented: “It’s great news to be shortlisted for Law Firm of the Year. These are highly competitive awards that attract entries nationwide. Our Collections and Recoveries team has been going from strength to strength – winning the award would cap off a great year!”

The winners will be announced at an awards evening at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on Thursday 16 May.
